In Partnership with Punch Records, we are excited to offer a series of bespoke micro commissions specifically for Midlands-based Hip Hop dance artists as part of Gallery 37 North (G37n), and the renowned Birmingham International Dance Festival (BIDF) running 17 June – 3 July 2022.
We are inviting dance artists working within Hip Hop styles to submit an innovative concept for this new commission that will feature as part of the BIDF 2022 and Gallery 37 North programme. The projects must be original work, dance-focused and be designed specifically for outdoor
spaces. Two concepts will be selected, the finished works will premiere as part of BIDF in June – July 2022.
Full details and how to apply can be found here
The Midlands Made & G37n opportunity builds on the success of our previous co-commissions in 2021, where artists Joseph Toonga and Emma Houston & Bellatrix received commissions to premiere new Hip Hop works engaging with communities in North West Birmingham.
