U.Dance 2022 Applications are now open!
We’re excited to announce that this year, there are two separate opportunities to be eligible for the U.Dance National 2022 event: U.Dance on Stage & MY (Midlands Youth) Dance on screen.
U.Dance is the national programme of dance events offering high-quality opportunities to young people led by One Dance UK.
We welcome and encourage youth dance groups and soloists who create dance pieces in all genres, such as any and all street dance styles, jazz and theatre styles, ballet, South Asian dance, contemporary dance, dance of the African Diaspora, folk dance. No genre is excluded.
U.DANCE ON STAGE
We will be hosting a live U.Dance WM platform on Sunday 27 March 2022 at the Patrick Centre–Hippodrome Birmingham.
You can apply for this opportunity if you are:
- Aged between 11 – 19 years; disabled young people up to the age of 25 years (as of 24 July 2022 and dancers with disabilities aged up to and including 25 on or by this date)
- A dance group with more than 30 dancers
- Be based in the West Midlands
- A dance piece between 2 and 7 minutes long (absolutely no longer than 7 mins)
- Available to perform on Sunday 27 March 2022

U.DANCE ON SCREEN
MY Dance On Screen 2022 is a celebration of youth dance on screen from across the Midlands. in partnership with
Dance4 (Nottingham).
You can apply for this opportunity if you are:
- Aged 11 to 19 years (as of 24 July 2022 and dancers with disabilities aged up to and including 25 on or by this date)
- A dance group with more than 30 dancers
- Be based and involve dancers from the West Midlands & East Midlands
- Create a dance piece made for screen –to be showcased at ‘U.Dance WM & U.Dance EM events and considered for the National festival 2022.
- Ensure the dance piece is between 2 and 7 minutes long
